Road Closure Announcement

Beginning in September and running to mid-October, County Country Road 641 will be closed north of Bingham Road/south of Donner Road. There will be detour signs and routes posted. The roadway will be reconstructed with drainage and safety enhancements. For more detailed information and a map, click here.

...And Even More Roadwork...

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin work on M-22 along the entire length of Bingham Township on Monday, September 18.

Project work will entail replacing and sealing concrete joints and making pavement repairs on 8.7 miles of M22 from south of East Lakeview Hills Road to north of Fourth Street in Suttons Bay. The work will require 24-hour lane closures under flag control, with up to two lane closures at a time. Some night work is possible during the project.

The project is expected to last until November 3.

The Leelanau Conservation District offers free services through the Forestry Assistance Program with Forester Kama Ross.  She is available both in-office and will visit your sight if needed. She can:

  • identify forest diseases and insects and their control options
  • advise on the selection and planting of trees and shrubs to meet your needs
  • inform you on the forestry property tax incentive programs
  • offer recommendations for improving woodlots
