 JANUARY 9, 2008

 

 

CALL TO ORDER:  5:15 pm

 

ROLL CALL:  Supervisor-Bahle, Clerk-Van Huystee, Treasurer-Herman, Member- Drozdalski, Trustee-Send

Guests:  2

 

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES:

 

Bahle requested the motion under Sewer Extension Request:  Broadway St./Dave Bahle  be changed to read:

 

MOVE BY BAHLE SUPPORT BY VAN HUYSTEE TO APPROVE PERMIT No. 1004116 A PERMIT APPLICATION FOR WASTEWATER SYSTEMS REQUESTED BY DAVID BAHLE OF THORNTREE COMMONS.

AYES:  ALL    NAYES:  NONE    MOTION CARRIED

 

MOVE BY SEND SUPPORT BY DROZDALSKI TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 12, 2007 SUTTONS BAY TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING MINUTES WITH CORRECTION.

AYES:  ALL    NAYES:  NONE      MOTION CARRIED

 

APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA:

 

Consensus approval of the agenda.

 

REPORTS:

 

Treasurer:    

 

Treasurer Herman submitted a written report.

 

Zoning Administrator: 

 

ZA Patmore submitted a written report.

 

Fire Board: 

 

Bahle stated the Fire Board accepted a resignation from paramedic, Karen Britton effective February 1st and discussed the criteria for selecting a new fire chief.

 

Parks and Recreation:

 

Bahle commented that at their meeting next week the committee would renew the recreation plan for the next five years. 

 

Cemetery:  None

 

Facilities:   None

 

 

 

PUBLIC COMMENT:  None

 

OLD BUSINESS: 

 

Review of Fee Schedules:  Land Use and Land Division:

 

Bahle stated that PA Rollenhagen submitted a comparison of fee schedules for review.  Bahle stated ZA Patmore suggested doing away with the calculations and the board directed Rollenhagen and Patmore to revise and put on the February calendar to discuss.

 

Planning Commission, ZBA, & Recreation Committee Appointments:

 

MOVE BY BAHLE SUPPORT BY VAN HUYSTEE TO REAPPOINT DON GREGORY TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR ANOTHER THREE YEAR TERM ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2010.

AYES:  ALL    NAYES:  NONE    MOTION CARRIED

 

Bahle stated he received a letter from Elwood Holman stating his interest in becoming a member of the planning commission.

 

MOVE BY BAHLE SUPPORT BY SEND TO APPOINT ELWOOD HOLMAN TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR A THREE YEAR TERM ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2010.

AYES:  ALL    NAYES:  NONE    MOTION CARRIED

 

Bahle stated they are still missing ZBA Alternate and a Board of Review member.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Payment of the Bills:

 

MOVE BY SEND SUPPORT BY DROXDALSKI TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF THE BILLS AS PRESENTED.

AYES:  ALL    NAYES:  NONE       MOTION CARRIED

 

Budget Preparation/Review:

 

Van Huystee suggested the board review and a broader discussion will be held in February.

 

BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS: 

 

Drozdalski stated that the planning commission questioned whether the noise ordinance is still being pursued and suggested looking at the Traverse City ordinance.

The board agreed to pursue and asked Drozdalski to get copies to the board members to look at as well as look at the cemetery ordinance.

There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned by consensus at 5:35 pm.
