Download \tp_4114.pdf Download \draft_transportation_plan_3414.pdf

The Village of Empire has enlisted the service of LSL Planning Inc. with a grant from NWMCOG (Northwest Michigan Council of Government) to develop a Transportation Plan.  It will become part of the existing Village Master Plan.

The current Draft Transportation Plan April 1, 2014 is attached below. The Plan is not yet complete as some elements are still under development, including a Long Term Project List.  Suggestions from the public for the best items to top the priority list are most enthusiastically encouraged.

The development process has included a 2-Day Special Public Work Session August 1-2, 2013 and several rounds of Public Input including an 8 week campaign soliciting input via Matrix - Feedback Worksheets on-line (via Monkey Survey) and in hard copy with the support of the Glen Lake Community Library and the Village Office.  Compilations of the input is also attached below for reference.

Some of the over-arching goals of the future Transportation Plan are described in the last document, a Complete Street Policy.  It is part of the plan and was approved by the Planning Commission on September 3, 2013 and the Village Council on October 22, 2013.
