Commission on Aging

MISSION STATEMENT: Assure independence with dignity for Leelanau County senior citizens.

VISION STATEMENT: The Leelanau County Commission on aging will be a visible focal point for senior services. We will demonstrate collaboration through coordinated care and open communication with other service providers. We will continually measure our impact to adjust to the changing needs of seniors while being fiscally responsible. Seniors of greatest need are our priority and we will promote healthy lifestyles through active, social programs for all seniors.

In order to meet the goals of its mission and vision statement, the Leelanau County Commission on Aging (COA) offers a number of programs for County residents, including nutrition and dining programs and assistance with health and medical needs. The COA serves as an information center for senior citizens, providing assistance to individuals in finding appropriate service providers that can meet their needs. The COA provides information to assist individuals who would like to make their own direct contact with a service provider, and can also make referrals, making contact with a provider on behalf of an individual.

For information on other services, click on "Services" in the menu on the left.
