Left: The Clay Cliffs Natural Area north of Leland is the newest recreation area in Leland Township. The 105-acre site includes more than 1,700 feet of shoreline on both Lake Michigan and North Lake Leelanau. The property includes mature northern hardwood forests, open meadows strewn with wildflowers and wetlands fed by springs. From the clay bluffs that rise above Lake Michigan are breathtaking views of the Manitous and South Fox Island. Public recreation opportunities include fishing, bird watching, hiking and cross-country skiing.

Leland Township maintains numerous parks and water access sites. All facilities are open to the public at no cost from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
