Applications being accepted for new Housing Action Committee - until 4/17

Are you interested in being a member of a new Housing Action Committee

The Leelanau County Planning Commission is accepting applications for appointment to this new Committee.  This new Committee will be comprised of representatives from such groups as:  real estate, developers, young families, businesses, senior citizens, local government, non-profits, and investors.

The overall role for the Committee is to identify resources, create partnerships, educate the public, reach out to developers, support village/township efforts, provide zoning review, propose zoning changes, ensure timely inspections, explore programs and opportunities (available through the Land Bank, tax incentives, PILTs, grant dollars, and MSHDA/HUD), and may apply for certification as a ‘Redevelopment Ready Community (RRC)’.
