The Leelanau Township Offices are now open to the public at this time,
although face masks and social distancing is required.

TIMBER SHORES RV RESORT SPECIAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION
Leelanau Township has received an Application for a Special Use Permit for an RV Resort on the former Timber Shores Property.
No meetings have been scheduled at this time. The material is under review, and meetings are dependent on COVID-19 regulations.
At some point there will be a Public Hearing. Details will be posted here.

LEELANAU TOWNSHIP ANNUAL MEETING

The Leelanau Township Annual Meeting of Electors scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020 was Cancelled.



DRAFT SHORT TERM RENTAL ORDINANCE

The Leelanau Township Board is considering the adoption of a Short Term Rental Ordinance.

The township board will be discussing a draft ordinance at a future board meeting.

NOTICE OF ORDINANCE ADOPTION

Please take notice that the Leelanau Township Board of Trustees at a regular meeting on February 19, 2019 at 7:00 PM in the Leelanau Township Hall, Northport, Michigan, adopted Ordinance No. 1 of 2019, the Leelanau Township Prohibition of Recreational Marihuana Establishments Ordinance.

The following is a synopsis of Leelanau Township Ordinance No. 1 of 2019:

An ordinance to provide a title for the ordinance; to define words; to prohibit marihuana establishments within the boundaries of Leelanau Township pursuant to Initiated Law 1 of 2018, MCL 333.27951,  et seq., as may be amended; to provide penalties for violation of this ordinance; to provide for severability; to repeal all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict therewith; and to provide an effective date.

This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after publication in a newspaper of general circulation within the township.
