Leelanau County Aerials flown in spring of 2017 are now available online at www.leelanau.cc (Under 'Maps", follow the Tab - "Tutorial - How do I use these maps?" for directions. The color 2017 aerials can be added when you are viewing Land Ownership Maps. Click on Base Maps on the right hand side to add the color 2017 aerials to a map.
Aerial imagery was previously flown in 1990, 1995, 2000, 2006 and 2012 and is used by various county offices, businesses, and the general public. The 2000, 2006, 2012 and 2017 imagery is available online. The 2017 imagery was obtained in partnership with the State of Michigan.
Questions regarding the 2017 aerial imagery, or requests for mapping projects & costs can be directed to the Equalization Department (256-256-9823) or the Planning Department (256-9812).
Effective January, 2018, The Leelanau County Sheriff's Office has designated R.E. Risk & Associates to conduct all property foreclosure sales within Leelanau County.

We are now taking appointments for the Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Collections for 2018.
The first collection will take place on May 19 at the Leelanau County Government Center. To make an appointment please call the Planning & Community Development Office at 231-256-9812.
Collections will be held:
Saturday, May 19 at the Leelanau County Government Center.
Saturday, June 30 at Glen Lake School.
Saturday, August 25 at Peshawbestown.
Saturday, October 6 in Elmwood Township.

Do you own, or wish to buy or lease, a piece of property that may have contamination issues such as asbestos, fuel spill, old drums/tanks on site? Or, is the site abandoned and/or obsolete?
If so, you may be eligible for assistance through the Leelanau County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (LCBRA) to conduct environmental assessment of the property and determine if contamination does exist.
The LCBRA has funds from the U.S. EPA to assist on properties where these concerns are creating problems for resale/redevelopment.
